Physics, computer science, and math that finally make sense — taught by a working researcher, not a script.
I'm a computational physicist and Columbia grad student. I tutor high-school and college students in physics, math, and CS — building real understanding and the confidence that comes with it, not just drilling for the next test.
Who I help
From AP Physics to the college calculus sequence.
Whether your student is staring down an AP exam or a college problem set that won't budge, the goal is the same: understanding they can carry into the next course, not just the next test.
For the AP track and beyond
The courses that decide whether physics and math feel like a foundation or a wall.
- AP Physics 1, 2, and C — mechanics, E&M, the works
- AP Calculus AB / BC
- AP Computer Science A & Principles
- Precalculus and high-school math
For the courses that gate everything after
The intro and intermediate sequences that engineering, science, and CS degrees are built on.
- Intro & intermediate physics — mechanics, electricity & magnetism
- The calculus sequence, linear algebra, differential equations
- Intro computer science & programming
How I teach
Most students aren't "bad at" this — they were handed the formula before the picture.
Build the picture first, and the math stops feeling arbitrary. That's the whole approach, and it's why it sticks.
I lead with intuition
I build the mental picture first — what's actually happening, and why. Once that's there, the equations read as a description of something real instead of a list to memorize.
I use this for real
My research is in medical imaging and computational physics, so I can show why a concept matters — not just how to get the point on the exam. Curiosity does a lot of the work that drilling can't.
BA Physics, Penn (magna cum laude) · MS Medical Physics, Columbia · MS Computer Science, CU Boulder · a year teaching high-school math · published researcher. Credentials matter here only as a promise: I actually know this material, deeply — and I've taught it in a classroom, not just learned it.
Format
Online, wherever your student learns best.
We start with a free intro call to figure out what's actually getting in the way — then plan sessions around that, not a fixed script.
Rates
Clear, simple pricing.
No packages to decode up front — the level sets the rate, and we sort the rest on the intro call.
High school / AP
AP Physics, Calc & CS, precalculus, high-school math
College / advanced
College physics, the calculus sequence, linear algebra, diff eq, intro CS
Level sets the rate. Multi-session packages available on request.
Start here
Let's start with a free 20-minute call.
No commitment, no pitch. We talk through what your student is working on and where they're stuck, and figure out together whether I'm the right fit. If I am, we set up the first session from there.
